Integrated design
The battery is integrated into the chassis for higher payloads, lower costs and greater scalability. That frees up container space, which matters for express and bulk delivery.
Deepway Star · Electric prime mover
Not a modified diesel platform. Purpose-designed and built for electric power. Now available through Deepway EV Trucks, your authorised Deepway dealer.
The Deepway Star
The Deepway Star wasn't adapted from a diesel platform. It was forward-designed as an intelligent new-energy heavy-duty truck, with one of the lowest drag coefficients of any mass-produced truck in the world.
It suits bulk haulage, long- and short-distance logistics, and port work.
Running costs
Deepway's published figures for the Deepway Star against a diesel prime mover. Check the real-world routes, then try the calculator with your own fuel and power prices.
Deepway's maximum savings on four working routes. Your results will depend on route, load and prices.
Routes: Deepway's published energy cost per 100 km and maximum saving for each route. Daily figures are worked out from those rates. Annual estimate: Deepway EV Trucks' comparison of a Deepway Star and a diesel semi: 130 kWh vs 45 L per 100 km, maintenance $27,000 vs $53,600 a year, purchase price $370,000 vs about $250,000. Figures rounded to the nearest $10. The default diesel price is the latest Melbourne average diesel terminal gate price published by the Australian Institute of Petroleum, refreshed daily. *Calculation based on regional cost standards, may vary due to electricity & labour fees.
Technology
Deepway develops the Star's core systems in-house: an integrated battery chassis, a motor at each driven wheel, and a multi-domain electrical architecture.
The battery is integrated into the chassis for higher payloads, lower costs and greater scalability. That frees up container space, which matters for express and bulk delivery.
Each driven wheel has its own motor, so there's no conventional mechanical transmission.
The electrical architecture was designed in from the start and supports over-the-air upgrades. It gives faster response, better accuracy and stronger safety features.
The cabin and battery have independent temperature control, with multi-sensor automatic cooling for stable operation. Active and passive battery insulation handles cold regions.

Charging & infrastructure
The chassis-mounted battery is built for efficient charging and easy driver use. A 1C ultra-fast charger fills it in about an hour. Deepway's swap stations use its own bottom-swapping technology.
Deepway is building charging infrastructure to support electric heavy-duty logistics.
